About
Artisan Gardens is a landscape and garden design studio based in Blackheath, South London. We create exquisite, ecologically-minded gardens across London, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Berkshire.
The company was established in 2017, and is owned and directed by Alex Rainford-Roberts, silver-gilt medal-winner at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.
The company ethos is to bring together horticultural beauty and biodiversity, making gardens that are not only wonderful to be in, but that are biodiverse and sustainable in a changing climate.
In addition to her garden design work, Alex spent five years working at The Royal Parks as part of their Help Nature Thrive project, a long-term conservation initiative making the Parks more biodiverse and sustainable spaces.
Alex is also a PhD researcher at Nottingham Trent University, exploring the intersection of cinema, soil, and environmental sustainability.
